Queen of Hearts part one

There are certain shapes Lady Moss is attracted to for their romantic sensibilities and crafty goodness. Stars, moons, diamonds and hearts. Most of all hearts. We can’t seem to get enough of them lately and they have featured in everything from cookies to jewellery and anything we can come up with in between!

I had a little left over fondant that I wanted to play with and so I baked some cookies using the yummiest recipe ever from Bronnie Bakes that I am obsessed with.

To make the dough you just need to:

Mix 200g unsalted butter with 200g caster sugar with a beater, hence the yuminess.

Add to that 1 egg lightly beaten before slowly adding 400g plain flour and a capful of vanilla extract.

Mix until a dough has formed, wrap in cling film and pop in the fridge for half an hour.

I always follow Lady Hunt’s advice here and set aside a little dough to mix through icecream before proceeding to roll out and shape my cookies. Bake in a low oven for about 10-12 minutes.

As I was in the mood to play with fondant, I coloured and rolled it out to cover my cooled cookies.

To stick it in place just use some melted apricot jam. Why apricot? Beats me, but if its good enough for The Womens Weekly, its alright by Lady Moss.
